Patti Buck

Women’s Assistant Coach

Patti Buck joined the staff in August 2022 and is in their first season as an assistant for the Cal women’s rowing team. Buck joins the program with five years of youth rowing coaching experience and most recently served as the varsity coach for Oakland Tech Rowing and led them to their first appearance at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) Nationals in 2022 and a 4th place finish in the varsity women’s 1x. During the time spent at Oakland Tech, Patti was also the program director for the East Bay Rowing Club. During Buck's time with Oakland Tech and the East Bay Rowing Club, they focused on expanding rowing access to underserved communities. Buck also spent time as a volunteer assistant coach at alma mater, Tulane University where they rowed.

At Tulane, Patti was the team boatswain for the 2015 and 2016 seasons, won the silver medal in the varsity 2x at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association (SIRA) Championship in 2016 and also rowed in the Green Waves’ undefeated freshman 4+ in 2014.

Buck graduated with a BA in Spanish and Political Science from Tulane University and currently resides in Oakland, CA.
