The 2026 Cal Crew Gala
Dinner at the T. Gary Rogers Rowing Center, Oakland · cocktails 5:00 PM, dinner 7:00 PM — Friday, October 9th, opening Homecoming weekend
The gala returns on Friday, October 9, at the boathouse. There is no auction this year; dinner is served family style, with alumni seated together across class years. The weekend continues Saturday with the alumni row, a tailgate, and Homecoming football, and a second row Sunday morning.
Appetizers from Saul’s, the Berkeley delicatessen, pastrami among them. Then mesquite-grilled rib eye, chicken, and tofu with chimichurri, with two sides, two salads, and cheesecake bites for dessert.
Varsity Eight, $200 — open to all alumni and friends of the program.
Junior Varsity Eight, $100 — young alumni rate, for oarsmen who graduated in 2021 or later.

From its modest start as the University of California Boat Club, the first sporting organization formed at the University, Cal Crew has evolved and expanded into one of the best collegiate rowing programs in the world thanks to the support of our alumni and the University of California, Berkeley Athletic Department. The program today is known for its international success and its positive impact on generations of young men.
